Acute respiratory infections (ARI) is a general term for a group of conditions caused by pathogens affecting the respiratory tract, from the ears and nose to the lungs. This includes influenza, COVID-19, Mycoplasma, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and herpangina.
Recent reports indicate an increase in cases of acute respiratory syndrome within Okayama Prefecture. Acute respiratory syndrome is classified as a Category 5 infectious disease, so caution is advised. It is characterized by its spread to others through droplet transmission and other means.
